Continuing with the renovation and adaptive reuse of the iconic Power & Light Apartments the developer elected to turn the street level 2-story space into one of the largest event spaces in downtown Kansas City of the time.
Working alongside NorthPoint Development we devised a unique scheme to create a 500-seat event space spread over the two floors of the space along with bride and groom swuites, new washrooms, a coat check, bar, and catering kitchen. Additionally we restored all of the original ornate plaster work of the space and incorporated new,dramatic lighting all in efforts of creating the premier wedding and event venue in downtown Kansas City.
All new construction is held down from the existing ceilings and uplit allowing the ornate plaster work to shine through. The bathrooms take inspiration from the Gatsby era incorporating dark, rich finishes and brass metal accents with a black ceiling, while the Bridal Suite includes light and bright tapestries and textiles setting her up for her special day.
